Marine Data Research Intern

The Crown Estate is recruiting for a Marine Data Research Intern to join the Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure (EMI) team on a 3 month temporary, internship basis.

This is an exciting role to understand opportunities for improved data visualisation to enhance discoverability of an extensive database of offshore survey data, which is available to the public through the Marine Data Exchange (MDE).

The ideal candidate will have some experience in using geographical information systems and data analytical tools for the analysis and visualisation of data, such as PowerBI or Tableau. The individual will present excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a good command of written and spoken English and will either have a degree in a relevant subject or possess equivalent experience.

Enthusiasm for new tasks and a willingness to work both independently and as part of a busy team is essential.

Working closely with our GIS and EMI teams, this role would be ideal for an individual looking to gain experience with large datasets, data visualisation tools, data insights and marine survey data.
